    <title>1988 (2) TMI 12 - ALLAHABAD High Court</title>
    <link>https://www.taxtmi.com/caselaws?id=24564</link>
<description>State-wide Special Courts of Judicial Magistrates for specified economic offences may be constituted under the amended concept of local jurisdiction and the proviso to Section 11(1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, provided the State Government consults the High Court and assigns particular cases or classes of cases exclusively. Such a classification satisfies Article 14 where it rests on an intelligible differentia and rationally advances speedy, specialised adjudication. Concentrating economic-offence matters before Special Magistrates does not violate Article 21 where the arrangement is directed towards expeditious disposal rather than delay. The notification establishing exclusive State-wide jurisdiction for economic offences was sustained.</description>
