SEBI revises the QFI framework: QFIs must be resident in FATF-member jurisdictions not subject to FATF counter measures and in jurisdictions signatory to IOSCO's MMOU or party to a bilateral MoU with SEBI; residents of India and entities already registered under other foreign investor categories are excluded. "Purchase" is replaced by "Subscription." Aggregate holdings from QFI and FDI routes are capped per equity class/ISIN. QFIs may reinvest sale/redemption/dividend proceeds into eligible securities held in a single demat account, may appoint a qualified DP who is a SEBI registered custodian, and must use a single non interest bearing Rupee Account with an AD Category I bank.
