    <title>1988 (8) TMI 427 - Supreme Court</title>
    <link>https://www.taxtmi.com/caselaws?id=196217</link>
<description>Rule 10 of the Madhya Pradesh Selection for Post-Graduation Course Rules, 1984 was interpreted as barring admission against a seat that became vacant in the midst of or towards the end of the academic year, because seats available in a particular year had to be filled in that year and vacancies could not be carried forward. The Court also held that, absent express authority, the State Government could not transfer a postgraduate medical seat reserved for one medical college to another college to accommodate a student. The result was that late-year admission was impermissible and inter-college relocation of the reserved seat was invalid.</description>
