<title>OLTAS -PAN and refund status misleading top line of the reports.</title>
    <link>https://www.taxtmi.com/article/detailed?id=819</link>
<description>The NSDL/Income Tax portal currently displays &quot;Tax Refund Status: pan not found&quot; for assessment years where the Assessing Officer has not transmitted a refund to the Refund Banker, creating a misleading impression of an invalid PAN. Under the Refund Banker Scheme refunds routed through designated banking channels show detailed payment status; years with no transmission should instead display &quot;refund not sent&quot; or &quot;refund details not found,&quot; while invalid or cancelled PANs should be explicitly indicated. The author requests NSDL revise the portal wording to distinguish these situations.</description>
