After five years from the end of the year of initial subscription a subscriber may apply for a partial withdrawal up to fifty per cent of the lower of the balance at the end of the fourth year preceding the year of withdrawal or the preceding year, less any outstanding loan; one withdrawal per year is allowed. After fifteen years a subscriber may withdraw the entire balance (after loan-interest adjustments) and close the account or elect annual instalments. Alternatively, within one year after the fifteenth-year point the subscriber may opt to continue subscriptions for further five-year blocks, during which one partial withdrawal per year is permitted provided total withdrawals in the block do not exceed sixty per cent of the balance at block commencement.
