    <description>Central Government may, by notification, suspend or relax the operation of all or any provisions of the Act-either for a period or indefinitely-if satisfied such measures are necessary or expedient in the public interest. Indefinite suspensions may be removed later by notification. Every notification must be laid before both Houses of Parliament for a total of thirty days across one or more sessions, and Parliament may modify or annul the notification without affecting prior actions taken under it.</description>
