of <h1>CENVAT Credit Rules Amended: Deadline in Rule 9A Sub-rule (4) Extended to April 25, 2003, via Notification No. 36/2003-CE(N.T.)</h1> The Central Government has issued Notification No. 36/2003-CE(N.T.) dated April 16, 2003, amending the CENVAT Credit Rules, 2002, under the authority of section 37 of the Central Excise Act, 1944. This amendment, named the CENVAT Credit (Eighth Amendment) Rules, 2003, modifies rule 9A, sub-rule (4) by changing the deadline from April 15, 2003, to April 25, 2003. The amendment takes effect upon its publication in the Official Gazette. The principal rules were initially published on March 1, 2002, and last amended on April 10, 2003.
