<h1>Indian Academy of Cytologists designated as scientific research association under section 35(1)(ii) of Income-tax Act 1961.</h1> The Indian Academy of Cytologists, Bombay, has been approved as a 'scientific research association' by the Indian Council of Medical Research for the purposes of section 35(1)(ii) of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This approval is effective from June 20, 1980, to June 19, 1982. The association must maintain a separate account for medical research funds, submit annual returns of its research activities by May 31 each year, and provide an audited statement of accounts to both the Council and the Income-tax Commissioner by the same date.
