of <h1>Amendment Requires Nepal/Bhutan Importers to Provide Payment Proof via Foreign Inward Remittance or Irrevocable Letter of Credit</h1> Notification No. 20/2002-CE(N.T.), dated 14/05/2002, amends Notification No. 45/2001-CE(NT), dated 26/06/2001, concerning importers in Nepal or Bhutan. The amendment requires importers to provide full payment for goods by furnishing a Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate from a bank authorized by the Reserve Bank of India or by opening an irrevocable letter of credit in favor of the Indian exporter before export. Additionally, when exports are against an irrevocable letter of credit, specific documentation requirements for the exporter are outlined.
