This initiative, managed by a local health association, was initially recognized under the Income-tax Act, 1961, for three years starting from the 1996-97 assessment year. It was extended twice, with the latest extension covering the period from the 2002-2003 assessment year. The project, estimated to cost 104 lakh rupees, has been deemed eligible for continued support following a recommendation by the National Committee, confirming its proper execution.
