of <h1>Post Office Savings Bank Rules Amended: Transaction Limit Raised to Rs. 1 Lakh; Authority Limits Updated as Per Rule 13(4.</h1> The Central Government has amended the Post Office Savings Bank General Rules, 1981, under the authority of the Government Savings Banks Act, 1873. The amendments, effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, revise rule 13, sub-rule 4. Specifically, the monetary limit for certain transactions is increased from sixty thousand rupees to one lakh rupees. The amendment also updates the table of authorities and their corresponding financial limits, ranging from 1,000 rupees for Time Scale Departmental Sub-Postmasters to 1,00,000 rupees for Chief Postmasters General/Postmasters General.
