of <h1>Excise Exemption Limits Raised for Textiles and Garments; Terry Towels and Woolen Blankets Now Exempted</h1> The Central Government has amended previous notifications to raise the excise exemption limits for textiles and ready-made garments. Notification No. 34/2003 increases the exemption limit from thirty lakh rupees to forty lakh rupees and from twenty-five lakh rupees to thirty lakh rupees. Notification No. 35/2003 raises the limits from twenty-five lakh rupees to thirty-five lakh rupees and from twenty lakh rupees to twenty-five lakh rupees. Notification No. 36/2003 adds terry towels and woolen blankets to the list of exempted items and increases the exemption limit from thirty lakh rupees to thirty-five lakh rupees.
