of <h1>Eligibility Extension for Nashik Cancer Hospital Project u/s 35AC; Donations Capped at Rs. 74 Lakhs.</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of a project for constructing a building and purchasing equipment for a Cancer Hospital in Nashik, Maharashtra, managed by a charitable trust, under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially approved for three years starting from the assessment year 2001-2002, the project is now specified for an additional three years starting from the financial year 2003-04. The National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare recommended this extension, restricting donations to Rs. 74 lakhs, while maintaining the approved cost of Rs. 10.7 crores.
