Exemption under section 35AC: project approval extended with increased sanctioned cost and limited retroactive effect. The Central Government extends recognition of the project 'Maintenance of S.J. Patel Sarvajanik Hospital at Paliad' as an eligible scheme for three years beginning with financial year 2007-08 but disallows issuance of section 35AC donation certificates for funds collected during 2007-08; it also increases the maximum allowable project cost in the original notification to Rs. 72.00 lakh pursuant to the National Committee's recommendation and powers under sub-section (1) read with clause (b) of the Explanation to section 35AC.
