of <h1>Amendment to Excise Duty: 12% on Paper Products with 75% Non-Bamboo/Wood Pulp; Exemptions for International Bidding.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 06/2002-Central Excise, dated March 1, 2002, concerning paper and paperboard products. The amendments introduce new entries and conditions, including a 12% excise duty for paper products made from at least 75% non-bamboo or wood pulp. Additionally, goods supplied against International Competitive Bidding are exempt from excise duty. New conditions specify that exemptions do not apply if the factory has a plant for making bamboo or wood pulp, or if manufacturers use exemptions under previous notifications. These changes are effective as of September 10, 2004.
