Under this directive, 50,000 metric tons of non-basmati rice can be exported to Bangladesh through the West Bengal Essential Commodities Supply Corporation Limited. This rice must be sourced exclusively from within West Bengal. The amendment is issued under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and is intended to serve the public interest.
