of <h1>Central Government Approves Breach Candy Medical Research Centre Under Section 35(1) of Income-tax Act for 2000-2003 Period</h1> The Central Government has approved Breach Candy Medical Research Centre under section 35(1) of the Income-tax Act, 1961, for the period from April 1, 2000, to March 31, 2003. The institution must maintain separate accounts for its research activities, submit annual returns of scientific research to the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research by May 31 each year, and provide audited accounts to the Director General of Income-tax (Exemptions) and other relevant authorities by October 31 annually. The institution is advised to apply for renewal of approval in triplicate well in advance through the appropriate tax authorities.
