of <h1>Government Extends Willingdon Hospital Project, Increases Funding to Rs. 1800 Lakhs Under Section 35AC</h1> The Central Government has amended the notification regarding the purchase and operation of Willingdon Hospital in Chennai by the Medical Research Foundation. Initially specified as an eligible project under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, the project was approved for three years starting from the 1998-99 assessment year and extended for another three years from 2001-2002. The project is expected to extend beyond six years, and the approved cost has been increased from Rs. 1200 lakhs to Rs. 1800 lakhs, as recommended by the National Committee, to ensure its proper execution.
