of <h1>Government Amends Excise Notification, Omits Serial Numbers 11, 12, 24 to Serve Public Interest Under Central Excise Act</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Additional Duties of Excise (Goods of Special Importance) Act, 1957, has issued Notification No. 18/2000-CE, dated March 1, 2000. This notification amends the previous Notification No. 9/96-Central Excise, dated July 23, 1996. Specifically, it omits Serial Numbers 11, 12, and 24, along with their related entries, from the table in the original notification. This amendment is deemed necessary in the public interest. The principal notification was last amended by Notification No. 43/99-Central Excise on December 24, 1999.
