Approval Committee Formed for Kandla SEZ under Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 to Oversee SEZ Activities

The Central Government of India has established an Approval Committee for the Kandla Special Economic Zone under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. This committee is composed of various officials, including the Development Commissioner of the Kandla SEZ as Chairperson, and members from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Commissioner of Customs, Commissioner of Income-Tax, Director (Banking) from the Ministry of Finance, and local representatives from the Kutch District. The committee is tasked with overseeing activities within the SEZ, and in the absence of the Development Commissioner, a Joint Development Commissioner will represent them.
