<h1>India Updates Import Rules for New Vehicles Under Chapter 87; Designates Specific Customs Ports for Entry.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has amended the Import Licensing Notes related to Chapter 87 of the ITC (HS) Classification of Export and Import Items for 2002-07. Under this amendment, the import of new vehicles is allowed through specific customs ports, namely Nhava Sheva, Kolkata, Chennai, ICD-Tughlakabad, Delhi Air Cargo, and Mumbai Port. This change is enacted under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and is intended to serve the public interest.
