<h1>Minerals Under Code Nos. 2614 and 2617 Now Freely Exportable; Still Regulated by Atomic Energy Act, 1962</h1> The Central Government has amended the ITC (HS) Classification of Export and Import Items 2002-2007, making minerals under Code Nos. 2614 and 2617 freely exportable. Previously, these items, including rare earths and certain minerals containing uranium and thorium, were restricted and required an export license. The changes are made under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and the Export and Import Policy 2002-2007. Despite being freely exportable, these minerals will still be regulated under the Atomic Energy Act, 1962, due to their uranium and thorium content. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
