of <h1>India Updates Import Policy: Used Casks and Barrels Now Freely Importable Under ITC(HS) Code 44160010</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has issued an amendment to the import policy under the Foreign Trade Policy for 2002-2007. This amendment, effective from November 14, 2002, modifies the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items by adding a new import licensing note at the end of Chapter 44. Specifically, it states that the Exim entry under ITC(HS) Code No. 44160010 will now include used casks and barrels, and the import of all items under this entry will be free. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
