Amendment to Export-Import Policy: Advance Licence holders can now use AROs and Inland Letters of Credit for Intermediate Supplies.
Notification No. 16/2002-07, dated October 8, 2002, issued by the Central Government under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, amends the Export and Import Policy, 2002-07. The amendment allows Advance Release Orders (ARO) and Back-to-Back Inland Letters of Credit for Advance Licences for Intermediate Supplies. Paragraphs 4.1.8 and 4.1.9 are revised to remove the exclusion of Advance Licences for intermediate supply. This enables Advance Licence holders and DFRC holders to source inputs from indigenous sources or state trading enterprises using AROs or Back-to-Back Inland Letters of Credit.
