<h1>Amendments to Export and Import Policy: Import Without License, Third-Party Exports, SEZ Power Units, and More</h1> The Central Government, under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, has amended the Export and Import Policy, 2002-07. Key changes include: allowing import of certain goods without a license upon executing a legal undertaking or bank guarantee; permitting third-party exports; extending status certificates until March 31, 2004; setting a minimum value addition of 33% for DFRC, except for the gems and jewellery sector; allowing power generation units in SEZs; and specifying conditions for deemed export benefits. Additionally, the definition of a status holder has been clarified. These amendments are issued in the public interest.
