<h1>India Amends Export Policy to Allow 100,000 Metric Tonnes of Onions for Export by April 15, 2002</h1> The Central Government has amended the Export and Import Policy, allowing an additional 100,000 metric tonnes of onions (excluding Bangalore Rose and Krishnapuram varieties) for export. This quota will be distributed among several agencies: National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (35,000 MTs), Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board (35,000 MTs), Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Ltd. (10,000 MTs), The Spices Trading Corporation Ltd. (6,000 MTs), AP State Trading Cooperation (5,000 MTs), Karnataka State Co-operative Marketing Federation Ltd. (2,000 MTs), National Co-operative Consumer's Federation of India Ltd. (5,000 MTs), and North Karnataka Onion Growers Co-operative Society (2,000 MTs). Exports must be completed by April 15, 2002.
