of <h1>India Amends Export Policy for Low Silica Chromite Ore; Exports Now Via MMTC Limited Under Code No. 2610</h1> The Government of India has issued an amendment to the ITC(HS) Classification of Export and Import items, 1997-2002, under the Foreign Trade Policy. This amendment, effective from February 12, 2002, introduces a new entry under Code No. 2610 in Schedule 2 Table B. It specifies that low silica friable/fine chromite ore with Cr2O3 content between 52-54% and silica exceeding 4% is to be exported through State Trading Enterprises, specifically MMTC Limited. This amendment is enacted under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and is issued in the public interest.
