<h1>New Policy Sets Turnover Criteria for Recognizing Export Houses and Trading Houses; MoU Required for Recognition</h1> The notification from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, dated January 18, 2002, amends the Export and Import Policy of 1997-2002. It specifies the criteria for recognizing manufacturing companies, industrial houses, project exporters, and domestic service providers as status holders based on their annual turnover. Manufacturing entities with turnovers of Rs 300 crores and Rs 1000 crores will be recognized as Star Trading House and Super Star Trading House, respectively. Companies or service providers with a turnover of Rs 100 crores will be recognized as Export House and International Service Export House. Recognition requires signing a Memorandum of Understanding for achieving physical exports.
