of <h1>India Alters Export Policy: 1 Lakh Metric Tonnes of Onions Approved for Export by October 2000, Excludes Certain Varieties.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has amended the Export and Import Policy, allowing an additional export of one lakh metric tonnes of onions until October 2000. This amendment pertains to ITC(HS) Code No.0703(1) for all onion varieties, excluding Bangalore Rose and Krishnapuram onions. The designated agencies authorized for this export are NAFED (50,000 MT), MSAMB (20,000 MT), GAIC (15,000 MT), AP MARKFED (5,000 MT), STCL (5,000 MT), and NCCF (5,000 MT). These exports must be completed by October 31, 2000, under the same terms as the previous notification.
