<h1>India Updates Export Policy: Exotic Birds Export Restricted, Specific Species Allowed with Conditions Under Code 0106</h1> The Government of India has amended the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002 concerning the classification of exotic birds under Code 0106. The export of exotic birds is generally prohibited, but specific species such as Albino Budgerigars, Budgerigars, Bengali Finches, White Finches, Zebra Finches, and Java Sparrows are exceptions. These species are allowed for export, subject to pre-shipment inspection. However, Java Sparrows require an export license and must be from captive-bred stock, verified by a certificate from the Chief Wildlife Warden. Exports must also comply with CITES certification requirements. These amendments are issued in the public interest.
