of <h1>Central Government Updates Export and Import Policy 1997-2002; New Rules Effective April 1, 2000, per Foreign Trade Act.</h1> The Central Government has amended and notified the Export and Import Policy for 1997-2002, with the revised edition dated March 2000. This revision, made under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, will be effective from April 1, 2000. The amendments aim to update the policy framework for foreign trade, as detailed in the annexure of the notification. This action has been taken in the public interest and is issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade, who also serves as an Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
