<h1>India Approves Export of 100,000 MT Onions by March 2000; NAFED, State Agencies Handle Distribution</h1> The Government of India has issued a notification allowing the export of 100,000 metric tons of onions until March 31, 2000, under the Foreign Trade Policy. The allocation is divided among several agencies: NAFED will export 50,000 MT, including 5,000 MT to Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Maldives, and other SAARC countries. Karnataka State agencies will export 5,000 MT, Maharashtra State Agriculture Marketing Board 20,000 MT, Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation 15,000 MT, and Andhra Pradesh Marketing Federation 10,000 MT. All exports are subject to a Minimum Export Price set by NAFED, and quality and timely export are emphasized.
