<h1>Regulations on Foreign Investment in Indian Firms Superseded by FEMA 20(R)/2017 Notification Effective November 7, 2017.</h1> The Foreign Exchange Management (Investment in Firm or Proprietary Concern in India) Regulations, 2000, issued by the Reserve Bank of India, governs the investment by individuals residing outside India in Indian partnership firms or proprietary concerns. This regulation was enacted under the authority of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, and was published in the Official Gazette on May 8, 2000. It was later superseded by Notification No. FEMA 20(R)/2017-RB dated November 7, 2017.
