India Imposes Final Anti-Dumping Duty on Chinese Zinc Oxide to Protect Domestic Industry; Effective Retroactively from April 2001
The notification imposes a final anti-dumping duty on Zinc Oxide imported from China into India. Following investigations, it was determined that Zinc Oxide was being sold below its normal value, causing financial harm to the domestic industry through price suppression. Consequently, the Indian government, under the Customs Tariff Act, imposed a duty of USD 289.90 per metric tonne on Zinc Oxide of 99.5% purity, effective retroactively from April 9, 2001. This duty applies until April 8, 2007, with rates for other purities calculated on a pro-rata basis, and payments made in Indian currency.
