India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Acrylic Fibre from USA, Korea, Thailand under Customs Tariff Act, Chapter 55
The Central Government has imposed an anti-dumping duty on Acrylic Fibre under Chapter 55 of the Customs Tariff Act, originating from the USA, Korea RP, and Thailand. This duty results from a sunset review that concluded these fibres were being exported to India below normal value, causing injury to the domestic industry. The duty rates are set at $0.366 per kg for the USA, $0.225 per kg for Korea RP, and $0.16 to $0.313 per kg for Thailand, depending on the exporter. The duty excludes Homopolymer Acrylic Fibre priced at or above $2.40 per kg CIF. The notification remains effective until October 8, 2008, with specific exemptions from October 9, 2007.
