of <h1>India Exempts Nepalese Beer from Additional Duty Under Customs Tariff Act, 1975, Effective December 17, 2003</h1> The Central Government of India, utilizing powers under the Customs Act, 1962, and the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, exempted beer of Nepalese origin from the additional duty imposed under a previous notification dated March 1, 2003. This exemption, effective from December 17, 2003, was aimed at serving the public interest and applied to beer classified under heading 2203 of the Customs Tariff Act. However, this notification was later superseded by Notification No. 82/2007 on July 3, 2007.
