India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Chemical Imports from China & Singapore to Protect Domestic Industry
The Government of India imposed an anti-dumping duty on D (-) Para Hydroxy Phenyl Glycine Methyl Potassium Dane Salt imported from China and Singapore. This decision followed findings that the goods were being sold in India below their normal value, causing material injury to the domestic industry and hindering the establishment of new manufacturing facilities. The duty, effective from November 11, 2002, aims to counteract the injury caused by these imports. The duty will remain in force until November 10, 2008, unless revoked earlier, and is calculated based on the difference between specified amounts and the landed value of the goods.
