<h1>Customs Duty Exemption for Consumables in Gem and Jewellery Manufacture with Replenishment Licence; Previous 1996 Notification Rescinded.</h1> The notification exempts certain consumables used in the manufacture of gem and jewellery or cut and polished diamonds from customs duties for holders of a Replenishment Licence. The exemption applies to goods specified in Annexures I and II, up to a percentage of the Free On Board (FOB) value of the previous financial year's exports. For gold or platinum jewellery, the exemption is up to 1%, for rhodium-finish silver jewellery up to 3%, and for silver jewellery up to 2%. For cut and polished diamonds, the exemption is up to 1%. The notification rescinds a previous notification from 1996.
