India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Japanese Acrylic Fibre to Protect Domestic Industry; Revokes Duty for Spain, Portugal, Italy
The Central Government of India has imposed an anti-dumping duty on the import of acrylic fibre ranging from 1.5 to 8.0 denier, originating from Japan, to protect domestic industry from injury due to dumped imports. This decision follows a review by the designated authority, which found significant dumping margins from Japan but not from Spain, Portugal, or Italy. Consequently, the duty on imports from Japan will continue, while it is revoked for Spain, Portugal, and Italy. The duty amount is specified in US dollars per metric ton and will be payable in Indian currency, effective until June 20, 2010, unless revoked earlier.
