India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Chinese Titanium Dioxide Imports Until 2009 to Protect Domestic Industry
The Government of India has imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of Titanium dioxide anatase grade from China. This decision follows findings that these imports were sold below normal value, causing material injury to the domestic industry. The duty, effective from July 11, 2003, is set at $1227 per metric tonne and applies to specific producers and exporters. The duty will remain in force until July 10, 2009, unless revoked earlier. The rate of exchange for calculating the duty will be determined based on the date of presentation of the bill of entry under the Customs Act, 1962.
