of <h1>Mobile Handset Parts Exempted from Additional Duty Under Customs Act, 1962, Section 25 Until February 2010.</h1> The notification exempts parts, components, and accessories of mobile handsets, including cellular phones, from the additional customs duty under the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. This exemption is granted by the Central Government under section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest. Importers must comply with the Customs (Import of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty for Manufacture of Excisable Goods) Rules, 1996, to qualify for this exemption. Initially effective until June 30, 2009, the notification was amended by subsequent notifications and was ultimately rescinded by Notification No. 18/2010 on February 27, 2010.
