India Finalizes Anti-Dumping Duty on U.S. Bisphenol-A Imports at Rs. 10,000/MT to Protect Domestic Industry
The notification finalizes the provisional assessment of anti-dumping duty on Bisphenol-A imported from a U.S. company. Initially, it was determined that Bisphenol-A was exported to India below its normal value, causing material injury to the domestic industry. Consequently, an anti-dumping duty was imposed. Following a review request by the U.S. company, the designated authority recommended maintaining the duty at Rs. 10000 per metric tonne. The Central Government has now ordered the finalization of provisional assessments, confirming the duty rate from August 31, 1999, and rescinding the previous provisional assessment notification.
