of <h1>Customs Duty Halved on 82 Items Under Indo-Thailand Free Trade Agreement, Effective September 1, 2006, Notification No. 86/2006-Customs.</h1> The Ministry of Finance has issued Notification No. 86/2006-Customs, effective from September 1, 2006, under the Indo-Thailand Free Trade Agreement. This notification amends the previous Notification No. 85/2004-Customs by halving the customs duty on 82 items. The amendment replaces the duty specified in the First Schedule with the entire duty being waived. This action is taken in the public interest as per the powers granted under the Customs Act, 1962. The change aims to further facilitate trade between India and Thailand by reducing import costs on specified goods.
