of <h1>Amendment to Notification No. 6/99-Service Tax updates section reference from 65(48) to 65(72), effective July 16, 2001.</h1> The Central Government has issued an amendment to Notification No. 6/99-Service Tax, originally dated April 9, 2001. This amendment, effective from July 16, 2001, changes the reference from 'taxable service specified in sub-section (48) of section 65' to 'taxable service specified in sub-section (72) of section 65' under the Finance Act, 1994. The amendment is made in the public interest and does not affect actions taken prior to this change.
