Anti-dumping duty on Sodium Hydroxide from five countries extended to September 25, 2006, under Customs Tariff Act, 1975.
The Central Government has extended the anti-dumping duty on Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda) originating from Iran, Saudi Arabia, USA, France, and Japan. Initially imposed by notification No. 69/2001-Customs on June 26, 2001, the duty was extended following a sunset review initiated by the designated authority in May 2005. The extension, initially set to expire on June 25, 2006, has now been prolonged to September 25, 2006, pending the results of ongoing review investigations. This action is in accordance with the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, and related rules governing anti-dumping duties.
