of <h1>Customs Act Update: Import Duty Exemptions on 2,500 Items from Singapore Reduced per Notifications 74/2005 and 75/2005.</h1> The Central Government, under the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 38/2006-Customs dated April 28, 2006, allowing the import of 2,500 items from Singapore with amended duty exemptions. The amendments involve changes to previous notifications: Notification No. 74/2005-Customs now reduces the exemption from 90% to 75%, and Notification No. 75/2005-Customs reduces the exemption from 95% to 90%. These amendments are deemed necessary in the public interest and are documented in the Gazette of India.
