<h1>India Amends Edible Oil Export Rules: Expands Exemptions for Castor, Coconut Oils, and Organic Varieties.</h1> The Government of India has amended the notification regarding the export of edible oils, initially prohibited since March 2008. The amendment expands exemptions to this prohibition, allowing exports of certain oils such as castor and coconut oil, and specific conditions for deemed exports and exports to Special Economic Zones. Organic edible oils up to 10,000 MT annually and branded consumer packs up to 5 kg with a minimum price are also exempted. The prohibition does not apply to peanut butter exports. This amendment is effective immediately, modifying the previous notification dated February 5, 2013.
