of <h1>India Amends Customs Notification, Changes Duty Rate Effective Date to July 1, 2012, per Section 25(1) of Customs Act.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 25/2012-Customs to amend Notification No. 12/2012-Customs. This amendment changes the effective date for a prescribed duty rate on imported goods from April 1, 2012, to July 1, 2012. The amendment is made under the authority of Section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, and is deemed necessary in the public interest. The original notification was published on March 17, 2012, and had been previously amended on March 28, 2012.
