Effective from its publication date, the amendment modifies regulation 2, sub-regulation (2), clause (a), by replacing the word 'Coimbatore' with 'Coimbatore, Calicut.' This change expands the list of locations mentioned in the regulations. The amendment is made under the authority granted by section 157 of the Customs Act, 1962. The principal notification was initially issued on November 9, 1998, and has undergone previous amendments, the last being in August 2010.
