<h1>India Sets New Currency Exchange Rates for Imports; USD at 44.30 INR, Euro at 52.55 INR, JPY at 40.80 INR.</h1> Notification No. 55/2004-NT-Customs, dated 27th April 2004, issued by the Government of India, specifies the exchange rates for converting foreign currencies into Indian rupees for imported goods, effective from 1st May 2004. This notification supersedes the previous notification No. 36/2004-NT-Customs. The rates are detailed in two schedules: Schedule I lists the exchange rates for one unit of foreign currency, including the US Dollar at 44.30 INR and the Euro at 52.55 INR, among others. Schedule II provides the rate for 100 units of the Japanese Yen at 40.80 INR.
